Gin Popsicles!

Fourth of July fun

I was struggling to figure out how to celebrate July 4th in a time where the country is decidedly in turmoil. Clearly the answer was gin, in a kid-like but definitely adult form.

I bought a nifty silicone mold for $20ish. It was an easy process, and makes pretty ridges in the pops which of course is important.

I started with two recipes, but ended up with three. From the picture above, going from L to R, my thoughts:

1️⃣

Found recipe on internet- G&T with Raspberries. Sounds delish, but sadly no. Too much tonic, not enough sugar content made these highly bitter. Even with using good tonic. Will use as boozy ice cubes. Rating: 3/10

2️⃣

From @empress1908 – Elderflower Southside. Lovely, and much tastier! Lots of @fevertree elderflower tonic brings the G&T taste, but adds sweetness- and the bubbles freeze! The lovely shade of gin is so pretty- definitely add the fresh mint. Rating: 7/10

3️⃣

Recipe also from Empress- Raspberry Orange Pops. I thought this needed a strong London dry, so I used @biggin instead. This one has zero tonic, and relies mostly on OJ for sweetness. The addition of raspberries make them so pretty! Rating: 8/10

Have you made these? Do you have a recipe you love? If so, let me know and share your recipe!
